Today the team at Pike Creek Dental wore their mental health awareness shirts as part of Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚Some days these shirts are just fabric.Some days they start conversations.And some days they carry a little extra meaning.Today was one of those days.Today also marked one year since our hygiene coordinator Lesa lost her brother Mark. Anyone who knows Lesa knows how deeply she loves her family, and anyone who knew Mark knows he was deeply loved right back.Mental health matters.Grief matters.People matter.Creating spaces where people feel safe enough to say “I’m not okay” matters more than most people realize.We are especially grateful for the training Angela from Sean’s House has provided our teams to help create safe spaces, encourage open conversations, and remind people they do not have to carry hard things alone.We continue to wear these shirts because conversations save lives. Dr. Ryan and his team are always friendly, knowledgeable, and skillful in their work. My previous experiences had mainly been with the hygienists, who are all excellent, but I had my first cavity and the procedure for a filling was nothing short of impressive. Quick and painless!
